168 State of Maryland Queen Anns County to wit I hereby certify that a certain Negro man named Risdon who calls himself Risdon Sutton dark complexion white hair five feet Nine inches in height now about forty one years of age a scar on his forehead immediately above the left eye occasioned by a burn and a small scar on his left Jaw was manumitted and set free by the last Will and Testament of a certain Arthur Emory duly Executed on the 8th day of March 1807 and proved according to Law in my office on the 10th day of April 1807 His freedom to commence on the 8th day of March 1822. His person was identified by the Oath of a certain William Hopper Given under my hand and the seal of my office (Seal) affixed this 6 day of April 1835 Maryland Queen Anns County to wit I do hereby certify that a certain Negro man named Clenus aged about fifty one years black complexion has a large knot on his left Leg just above his ankle of a good countenance and is five feet eight and a half inches in height was manumitted and set free by the last Will and Testament of a certain Thomas G Lowman duly Executed on the 29 day of July 1826 and admitted to probat in my office on the 5th day August 1826 his freedom to commence on the 25th day of December 1826 his person having been identified by the Oath of a certain Massey West Given under my hand and the seal of (seal) my office affixed this 24 day of April 1835 Tho C Earle Regr Wills Q Anns County |
