166 State of Maryland Queen Anns County to wit I hereby certify that a certain Negro woman named Caroline who calls herself Caroline Smallwood dark complexion five feet four and three quarter inches in height now about twenty three years of age a small scar on her right hand immediately above the forefinger was manumitted and set free by the last will and Testament of a certain Sarah Philips duly executed on the fourteenth day of March 1832 and proved according to Law in my office on the 28 day of September 1833. Her freedom to Commence on the 28 September 1833. Her person was identified by the Oath of a certain Thomas B Booker Given under my hand and the seal (seal) of my office this 9 day of February 1835 Tho C Earle Reg Wills Queen Anns County State of Maryland Queen Anns County to wit I certify that a certain Negro man Phill otherwise named Philemon Murray light Complexion five feet and two Inches in height now about twenty seven years of age a small scar on his left eye was manumitted and set free by the last will and Testament of a certain Sarah Philips duly Executed on the 14 day of March 1832 and proved in my office on the 28 day of September 1833 his freedom to commence on the 28 day of September 1833 his person was identified by the Oath of a certain Thomas B Booker Given under my hand and the seal of my (Seal) office this 4 day of February 1835 Tho C Earle Regr wills Queen Anns County |
