153 which disposes of the residuum of his estate Her freedom to commence when she shall have attained the age of thirty five years. Her person identified by a certain Capt John C Legg who states that he knew her a little Girl on the family of Daniel & subsequently in the family of Henry Weedon. Given under my hand and the seal of my office this 31.st day of May Anno Domini [seal] 1832 Tho C Earle Rr Wills for Queen Anns County Therein the certificate of Henry Weedon who is now living on Kent Island in relation to this woman Maria is filed among the petition in the office State of Maryland Queen Anns County to wit I hereby certify that a certain negro man Charles who calls himself Charles Miller now about thirty three years of age five feet six inches & one eighth in height light complexion a scar on his forehead about an inch above the right eye brow two large scars on his right leg one of them just below the calf the other near the bend of the knee & a long scar on his left arm below the elbow joint was manumitted and set free by the last will and testament of a certain Arthur Emory duly executed on the 7 day of september 1799 and proved on the 18 september 1801 his freedom to commence when he shall have attained the age of twenty eight years at the next Christmas day thereafter His person identified by the Oath of a certain Theodore Emory Given under my hand and the seal of my office this 30th day of may Anno Domini 1832 Tho C Earle Regr Wills [seal] for Queen Anns County |
