83 To the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Kent County This is to certify that a negro man named James H Simons now present and applying for a certificate of freedom is the identical negro man mentioned in a manumission from George W J Perkins dated the twenty ninth day of June eighteen hundred and fifty five to be free on and after the first day of January eighteen hundred and fifty six being about thirty years of age April 7 1856 E F Perkins Jim is five feet four and three quarter inches high with a scar on his left leg and also a small scar under the right eye of a light complexion Filed recorded & certificate issued April 7 1856 by J F Gordon clk To the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Kent County This is to certify that a negro man now present named Joseph James Myers and applying for a certificate of freedom was born of a free woman and raised in Kent County and is now about twenty four years of age Witness F A Frazier J N Gordon jr April 12 1856 Joseph James Myers is five feet seven & one half inches high of a dark complexion Filed recorded & certificate issued April 12 1856 by J F Gordon To the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Kent County Md This is to certify that Hannah Freeman who is now present and applying for a certificate of freedom was free born and raised in Kent County and is now about thirty five years of age April 15 1856 Mary Ann L Norris Hannah is five feet two inches high black complexion has a scar on his forehead Filed recorded & certificate issued April 15 1856 by J F Gordon clk |
