that he is the identical negro man mentioned in a note from
George L Maslin to J F Gordon stating that the said boy was free
and that he had served out his time   and is twenty one years of age

       Stephen is five feet six and three quarter inches high of a
black complexion with a small scar on the left cheek
             Sir   I wish you to give Stephen Wright his free papers
as his mother was free born and he served me until he arrived
at age that I took him for  therefore it is no use for me to appear
personally                        with high respect yrs

To the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Kent County Maryland
          This is to certify that a negro woman named Temperance
Dornan now present and applying for a certificate of freedom
was born of a free woman and raised in Kent County aforesaid
and is now about twenty five years of age
                                                    John M.cDaniel
Temperance is five feet and one half inches high of a light
complexion with a small scar over the right eye

          This is to certify that George Graves who is now present
and applying for a certificate of freedom was free born and
raised in Kent County and is now about twenty one years of age
    August 25 1855                                 Edward Comegys
    George Graves is five feet eight & one half inches high light
complexion and has a scar on the right hand near the
thumb   and also a scar on the fore finger of the left hand
