To the clerk of the Circuit Court for Kent County   I hereby
certify that Harriet Chambers who is now present & applying
for a certificate of freedom was free born and raised in
Kent County and is now about nineteen years of age & of a
light complexion

    Harriet is five feet three inches high
    Filed and recorded on the 12 day of November 1853 and

To the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Kent County   This is to
certify that Jim Turner who is now present and applying
for a certificate of freedom is the identical person mentioned
in a deed of manumission executed this day by me
    Nov 2nd 1853                     William L Bowers
    Jim is five feet seven inches high dark complexion a
small scar on the fore head over the right eye and is
forty five years old
    Filed and recorded on the 2nd day of November 1853 and

certify that Bill Murray who is now present and applying
for a certificate of freedom is the identical person mentioned
in a deed of manumission executed by Charles Stanby
on the tenth day of February 1829

    Bill is five feet one inch high with three scars on his
right leg of dark complexion
