19 Maryland Kent County sct I Joseph Redue Clerk of Kent County Court hereby certify to all whom it doth or may concern that it hath been proved by testimony which is satisfactory to me that the bearer hereof a negro man named Jake Walker aged about twenty nine years five feet eight inches high of a black complexion with a small scar above the left eye was born free and raised in Kent County ( seal of ) In testimony whereof I hereto subscribe my name (Kent County ) and affix the seal of Kent County Court this (Court Maryland) twenty fourth day of December in the year Eighteen hundred and forty nine Joseph Redue Clerk of Kent County Court Maryland Issued and recorded on the 24th day of December 1849 By Joseph Redue Clk To the Clerk of Kent County Court This is to certify that Richard Frisby who is now present & applying for a certificate of freedom is the identical person Mentioned in a Deed of Manumission executed by Michael M. Maslin of the City of Philadelphia on the 24th Nov 1849 & Recorded in Kent County Court Maryland Francis T. Maslin Dec 24th 1849 Richard is about 30 years of age dark complexion with a small scar between the eyes & is five feet nine & ½ inches high Jos Redue Clk Filed and recorded December 24th 1849 and certificate of freedom issued as follows State of Maryland sct I Joseph Redue Clerk of Kent County Court hereby certify to all whom it doth or may concern that it appears by the records of Kent County aforesaid that a certain Michael M.
