This is to Certify that A Negro man now Present and applying
for a Certificate of Freedom Names James Edward Stevens was
Born free and Raised in Kent County and is now about
22 years Old
Augst 26th 1858                        Thomas Jones
James is 5 feet 7 inches high Light Complexion with a
scar on the fore finger of the Right Hand

I hereby certify that Charles Blake A negro man
now present and applying for a Certificate of
Freedom was born Free and Raised in Kent
County and is now about 39 years old
Augst 28th 1858              James Graves
Charles is 5 feet 9 inches high of dark Complexion
with a Small Scar on his left Cheek and one
over the Right eye and Bald on the top of his
head
