116 To The Clerk of the Circuit Court for Kent County I hereby certify that a negro woman now present and applying for a certificate of Freedom named Mary Elizabeth Blake is the identical negro mentioned in a Bill of Sale from one Wm Burrows to John Lusby un which said Bill of Sale she is called Elizabeth and which she was to be free at the age of Thirty five years which would be on the 16th day of June 1856 Said Bill of Same and manumission is Recorded in Liber J.N.G. no 2 page 322 and I further certify that She was raised in Kent County July 20 1858 C. T. Lusby Mary is 5 ft 2 in high aged about 38 years copper or light Brown complexion with a small scar over the left eye Filed Recorded & certificate issued July 20th 1858 by Jesse K Hines clerk To the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Kent County This is to certify that a negro woman now present and applying for a certificate of Freedom Named Temperance Butler was Born Free and Raised in Kent County July 21st 1858 Eliza Smith Temperance is 5 ft 2½ inches high 36 years old and of dark Complexion with but two front teeth above Filed Recorded & certificate issued July 21st 1858 by Jesse K Hines clerk To The Clerk of the Circuit Court for Kent County I hereby certify that a negro woman now present and applying for a certificate of Freedom named Hannah Butler was born free and Raised in Kent County July 21st 1858 James Graves Hannah is about 26 years Old 5 ft 4½ inches high and of light Brown complexion Filed Recorded & |
