I hereby Certify that I believe Pere Tilghman the
bearer of this note is one of the negro boys left to be
free at Twenty one years of age by my Grand Mother
Thomas and my Grand Father Thomas
I Knew Pere when he was a boy
Jary 23rd 1858            Mary L Sparks
Pere is 5 feet 7 inches high 36 years old Brown Color
Scar over right Eyebrow

                I hereby certify that a negro man named William Warner
now present and applying for a certificate of freedom was born
free and raised in Kent County and now about twenty seven
years of age
