To the Clerk of the Circuit Court for Kent County
           This is to certify that a negro man named Aaron
Warner now present and applying for a certificate of freedom
was born of a free woman and raised in Kent
County and is now about twenty three years of age
Oct 21 1857                          B R Meginniss

Aaron is five feet two and one half inches high of a
light complexion

          This is to certify that a negro man named Thomas
Jones now present and applying for a certificate of freedom
is the identical negro mentioned in a deed of
manumission from James B Ricaud and wife
dated 20 day of March 1817 to be free from dates of said
manumission
Mr 23rd 1857                              Cornelia Ricaud

Thomas is five feet three and one quarter inches high of a
dark complexion

Hannah Hynson is a free woman living in my neighborhood
I have known her for a long time I was also
well acquainted with her parents who are also free
