       From the 10th day of May 1849


    To the Clerk of Kent County Court
                This is to certify that Emeline Graves who is now present and applying
for a Certificate of freedom was born free and raised in Kent
County and is now about twenty one years of age
May 14th 1849                                          Benjamin Fiddis

    The said Woman is about 5 feet 5¾ Inches high of Bright Complexion

To the Clerk of Kent County Court
                         This is to Certify that Eleanor White the bearer
hereof and who is now present is the identical person mentioned in
a deed of manumission executed by me on this 27th day
of July 1849 and which is filed this day for record
    July 27th 1849                                    Martha Brice
                   Filed and Recorded on the 27th July 1849 By
                                                                Jos Redue Clk
The following certificate was granted to the said Eleanor white to wit
Maryland Kent County to wit:
                            Pursuant to the directions of an Act of the General Assembly
of Maryland passed at November session Eighteen hundred and five I hereby
certify that by a deed of manumission duly executed by Martha Brice of the County and State
aforesaid bearing date the twenty seventh day of July Eighteen hundred and forty nine duly
filed and Recorded in this office it appears that a certain negro woman named
Eleanor White the bearer hereof is freed from slavery I further certify that
it has been proved by satisfactory testimony that said Eleanor White is the identical
negro freed as aforesaid   The said Eleanor White is five feet
three and an half inches high of light complexion about thirty eight years old
and was raised in Kent County in the state of Maryland
       (Seal of         )            In Testimony whereof I have hereto subscribed my name and affixed
       (Kent County)            the seal of Kent County Court this twenty seventh day of July
       (Court Maryland)       in the year Eighteen hundred and forty nine                               Joseph Redue Clk
                                  Issued and recorded on the 27th July 1849 by Jos Redue Clk         of Kent County Court
