Maryland Somerset County July y.e 10th 1735
The Deposition of Henry Newman aged thirty five or thereby being sworn on the holy
Evangelist of Almighty God saith that thirteen years or thereby the deponant was
Request by Richard Cary for to goe down to a Bounder of a tract of Land Called Refuge
who told the deponant that the occasion of his Calling him there was to Certifie him that
this tree being a Large white Oak was y.e the first bounder of the said tract which said tree
standing on the Southermost side of a branch that Runeth into Great Monni Creek and further
saith not

all of Somerset County Gent  Greeting know ye that we have appointed you or any three
or two of you to be our Commissioners to Examine Evidences on behalf of a Certain John
M.cClester of the County afd in Relation to the bounds of a tract of Land Called Sweetwood
Hall lying near the mouth of Nanticoke River  Wee therefore Require you or any three
or two of you at some time and place as to you or any three or two of you shall Seem
Convenient you meet on the aforesaid Land Called Sweetwood Hall (You first having
taken your Oaths on the holy Evangelist of Almighty God according to act of assembly in
Such Case made and provided) and there Cause to Come before you or any three or two of you
all Such Evidences as shall be to you or any three or two of you Nominated by the said Complainent
or Deft if any and that you or any three or two of you Examine them upon their
Corporall Oaths to be by you or any three or two of you administred on the holy Evangelist
of Almighty God in the presents of the Complainent or Deft if any touching the truth or
Remembrance of their knowledge or anything that may Relate to the Cause af.d and
that Reduceing the Severall depositions into writing you send the same together with
this our Commission under your or any three or two of your hands and Seals to us to our
County Court of Somerset with all Convenient Speed  Wittness  Robert King Gent
Chief Justice of our said Court the Twenty Second day of June In the Ninteenth Year of
Our Dominion &a Ann Dom One thousand Seven hundred and thirty four
On the backside of the foregoing Commission it was Endorsed as Followeth Viz.t

August y.e 12.th 1734  Then was y.e within Robert Collier and Jacob Mezick Quallified on
