complain that whereas the said Sarah is a good true honest and faithfull leige Subject of our Lord the King that now is and as a good true honest and faithfull leige Subject of our said Lord the King and his progenitors King and Queens of the Realm of Great Brittan from the time of her nativity hitherto hath behaved and demeaned herself and from all kind of Feloney Robbery Larceny or any such wicked and base crime hath from the time of her nativity hitherto free clear unspotted and unattainted remained by reason whereof she hath kept and Conserved herself of good name fame estimation and repute amongst her neighbours and other faithfull leige Subjects of our said Lord the King and also all and Singular her goods and Chattles in now wise Subjects to the Rigour of the law for such like offences made and provided but hath deservedly had and obtained the love and good will of her neighbours and other faithfull leige Subjects of our said Lord the King by all the time afd Nevertheless the said Rebecca being not Ignorant of the premisses by envying the happy estate and Condition of the said Sarah Malitiously plotting and Contriving the sid Sarah not only in her good name fame estimation and repute afd very much to hurt but also to Cause her innocently to be brought in danger of suffering corporal punishment and the pillory and forfeiting four fold as the law in such Case directs the twenty ninth day of Janry Anno Dom seventeen hundred and thirty four at the County of Somerset afd within the Jurisdiction of this Court these false Infamous scandalous Malitious and aprobrious words following of her the said Sarah of her malice fore thought in the presents and hearing of sundry faithfull liege subjects of our Lord the King having Comunication and speach concerning her the said Sarah with an audible voice scandalous^ly falsely and malitiously did assert rehearse publish pronounce and speak viz.t she (the said Sarah meaning) stole Mannerings Corn [the Corn of a certain Abraham Mannering of Somerset County meaning after it was brought in (meaning after the share of Corn was brought in and divided between the afd Thomas and Abraham made upon the said Thomas his plantion ^out^ of the part or share belonging thereout to him the said Abraham] when as in truth the said Sarah no such wicked and base crime ever did comitt or perpetrate by reason whereof the said Sarah in her good name fame creditt and repute afd is very much hurt and damnified but also the said Thomas sundry sums of money and tobacco for clearing and vindicating of the good name fame creditt and repute of the said Sarah is forced to expend |
