     Command was given to the Sheriffe of Somerset County that he should take

Renshaw Robards Late of Somerset County planter otherwise Called Renshare
Roberts of Somerset parish in the County of Somerset and promise of Maryland planter
if he should be found in his bailywick and him should safe keep so that he might have his body before
the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset to be held at dividing Creek in the Same County the
third Tuesday of August ^then^ next to answer unto Listian Alexander Executor of the testament & Last Will of William
Alexander Late of Stepney parish in the County and province abovesaid of a plea that he render him Eight
Thousand pounds of tobacco which from him he unjustly detains &.a  and that thereof he Should not
fail &.a   and the said Listian by George Douglas his attorney declared against the said Renshare Roberts
in the plea afd as followeth viz.t  Somerset ss  Renshar Robards Late of Somerset County planter otherwise
Called Renshare Roberts of Somerset of Somerset parish in the County of Somerset and province of
Maryland planter was Sumoned to answer unto Listian Alexander Executor of the testament and Last Will
of William Alexander Late of Stepney parish in the County and province abovesaid of a plea that he render
him Eight thousand pounds of tobacco which from him he unjustly detaines &a

       And whereupon the said Listian by George Douglas his attorney says that Whereas the said
Renshar Roberts on the first day of December anno Dom Seventeen hundred & thirty three at the County
of Somerset afd within the Jurisdiction of this Court by his Certain Writing Obligatory which the said Listian
Sealed with the Seal of the Said Renshar hereinto Court brings whose day is the day and year afd did acknowledge
himselfe to be held and firmly bound to the said William Alexander in his Life time in the afd Sum of
Eight thousand pounds of tobacco to be paid to the said William Alexander his heirs Executors administrators
or assignes when he the said Renshar should be afterwards thereto requested and to the faithfull payment of
the said Eight thousand pounds of tobacco did bind himselfe his heirs Executors and administrators by the same
Writing Obligatory  Nevertheless the said Renshar the said Eight thousand pounds of tobacco to the afd Wm
Alexander in his Life time or the said Listian Alexander since the death of the said William hath not
rendered but the Same to the said William in his Life time or to the said Listian Executor of the testament &
Last will of the said William since the death of the said William to render hitherto hath denyed and the Same to the
said Listian to render still doth deny and unjustly detain altho the same to do the afd Renshar afterwards to witt
on the Twenty second day of February in the Year afd at the County afd and often after that time by the said W.m
Alexander in his Life time was required and altho' the said Renshar afterwards to witt the Twenty third day
of march in the year afd at the County afd after the death of the said William and often since that time the
same to do by the same Listian Executor of the testament and Last Will of the said William was required
