232 Robert Warren if &.a to answer &.a and afterwards to witt the Seventeenth day of August anno Dom one thousand Seven hundred and thirty Six before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset now here held at dividing Creek in and for the Same County Came the said Robert Warren in his proper person and had a hearing of the Indictment afd who thereupon says that he is guilty thereof and is willing to pay his fine for the fact afd Whereupon all & Singular the premisses by the Court here seen heard & fully understood Wherefore it is Considered by the Court here that the afd Robert Warren pay unto his Lordship the Lord Proprietary for his fine by the Court hereupon him Imposed for and by Occasion of the premisses afd ^whereof in form afd he is Convict^ Three pounds Curr.t money of Maryland for the Use of the County afd and that the said Robert Warren be taken to Satisfie his said Lordship of the fine aforesaid Whereupon the said Robert Warren present herein Court is Ordered to give Security to save and keep Endempnified the Justices of Somerset County Court & their Successors for the time being from all Costs Charges troubles and Burthens that might accrew by means of the Birth &a of the afd Child &a Thereupon the said Robert Warren with Joseph Hall of Somerset County planter his security both present herein Court in their proper persons acknowledged themselves Indebted unto his Lordship the Lord Proprietary in the Sum of Fifty pounds Sterling of their Severall goods & and Chattells Lands and tenements to the Use of the County of Somerset to be made & Levied if it Happen that the said Robert Warren his heirs Exrs and admrs or any of them do and shall not from time to time and at all times forever hereafter acquitt discharge and Save harmless as well the Justices of Somerset County Court for the time being and their Successors as also the Inhabitants of the Same County from all Costs Charges ^&^ troubles whatsoever for or by reason of the birth, maintainance, nourishing, and bringing up of the said Child and of and from all other suits Costs Charges Burthens troubles and demands whatsoever touching or Concering of the same &a
afd in the County afd within the Jur of this Court did committ fornication with a certian person to the Jurors afd unknown and did permit the same unknown person then and thereto have carnal knowledge of her body and to beget then and there a basterd Child on the body of her the same Eliza to the high displeasure of Almighty God to the evil Example of all others in such case offending (contrary) |
