August Court           1736                        231

Strangers as to them Respectively Shall Seem mete which is by the Court here Granted him he
giveing security according to act of assembly in such Case made & provided  Whereupon the said
Abraham Cordery with George Tull and James Train both of Somerset County Gent his Securitys
all present herein Court in their proper persons acknowledged themselves Indebted unto his
Lordship the ^right Honrble the^ Lord Proprietary of the province of Maryland in the Sum of five pounds
Curr.t money of Maryland of their goods and Chattells Lands and tenements Joyntly and Severally
to the use of his said Lordship his heirs & Successors to be made and Levied  If it happen
that the said Abraham Cordery do and shall not pay unto his said Lordship the Sum of fifty
shillings Curr.t money of Maryland for ever Year he Shall keep such ordinary or house
of Entertainment &a  Likewise the said Abraham Cordery with George Tull and James
Train his securitys as afd all present herein Court as afd in their proper persons and acknowledged
themselves Indebted unto his said Lordship in the Sum of Forty pounds Curr.t money of Maryland
of their goods and Chattells Lands and tenements Joyntly and Severally to the use of his said
Lordship his heirs and Successors to be made and Levied  If it Happen that the said Abraham
Cordery do not Keep good rules and orders and do suffer Idle Loos or disorderly persons
to Tipple Game or Committ other disorders or Irregularities in his ordinary or house of
Entertainment during the time that he shall keep the Same Contrary to the true Intent and
meaning of the act of assembly in Such Case made and provided &a

Robert Geddes of Somerset County Gent Came hereinto Court in his proper
person and prays that he may have the Liberty of keeping an ordinary or
house of Entertainment at the Court house at dividing Creek in the County afd for
the Ease and Conveniency of the Inhabitants travellers and Strangers as to them respectively
shall seem mete which is by the Court here Granted him he giveing security according
to Act of Assembly in such case made and provided         Whereupon the said Robt Geddes
with Edward Rownd and Francis Allen sery both of Somerset County Gent his Securitys all
present herein Court in their proper persons Acknowledged themselves Indebted unto his Lordship
the right honrble the Lord proprietary of the province of Maryland in the sum of five pounds
Currt money of Maryland of their goods and Chattells Lands and tenements Joyntly and severally
to the use of his said Lordship his heirs and Successors to be made and levied  If it happen that
the said Robert Geddes do (and shall) not pay unto his said Lordship the sum of fifty shillings
Currt money of Maryland for every year he shall keep such ordinary or house of Entertainment
