    June Court        1736                            211

deponant saith that the said William Pointer told him that the said Hickory stump was a bound.r of his Land
that he had sold to Robert Hall and from thence the said Pointer desired and that they ought & Shod runn his Course

    The same day came Abraham Smith an evidence aged fifty eight years this day and being sworn
as above saith y.t the said stump stood from the said cherry trees dam and tann trough as the said
Brittingham declared to and that the said Smith and Brittingham carved the chain from
the said Stump                  The same day came the said Wm Pointer again and saith that
he saw the said stump when it was a growing tree and it was marked four ways with four notches each way
and that his Brother Jeremiah Pointer told him that it was the third Boundr of the said Wms land
and further to the best of his knowledge saith that his Father told him that the said Hiccory tree was
the third bounder of his Land called as above and further the said Wm Pointer by vertue
of his Oath saith that he gave the said Robert Hall possession of the old house on the southwest
side of the said land where the said Pointer formerly livd being very near adjoining to 3 Mulberry
trees and one apple tree and further saith not         The same day came the abovesaid Edward Pointer
and by vertue of his said Oath saith that where a Gum the first Boundr of Rob.t Halls Land
might have been standing was in a branch but the said Gum is not to be found as y.t the said branch
Bounds the said Rob.t Hall Land ^Called^ of the head of S.t Lawrences neck ^and the Land^ of the land of the said Edward

Edmond Hough all of Somerset County Gent Greeting know yee that we have appointed
                You or any three or two of you to be Our Commissioners to Examine Evidences on behalfe of a Certain
William Robinson of the County afd in Relation to the bounds of a tract of Land Called Salem Wee therefore
require you or any three or two of you shall Seem meet Convenient you meet on the afd Tract of Land
Called Salem you first having taken your Oaths on the holy Evangelist of Almighty God according to act
of assembly in Such Case made and provided and there Cause to Come before you or any three or two
of you al such Evidences as shall be to you or any three or two of you nominated by the said Complainant
or deft if any and that you or any three or two of you Examine them upo^n^ their Corporall oaths
to be by you or any three or two of you administred on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty God in the
presents of the Complainant or deft if any touching the truth or remembrance of their knowledge or any
thing that may relate to the Cause afd and that reduceing the Severall depositions into writing you send
the same together with this our Commission under your or any three or two of your hands and seals to us to
