Creek the third tuesday of March then next to answer unto George Trewitt of a plea wherefore with force and Armes &.a at the parish of all hollows in the County of Somerset twelve Hoggs of the price of five pounds Curr.t money of Maryland of the goods and Chattells of the said George he did kill & destroy and other harms to him the said George then & there did to the great damage of him the said George and against the peace of the Right Honrble the Lord Proprietary his good rule & Government &.a and that thereof he Should not fail &a Att which said third Tuesday of March to witt the sixteenth day of the Same month anno Dom One thousand Seven hundred and thirty five being the day of the return of the said Writt Cometh the said George Trewitt by George Douglas his attorney and the Sheriffe of Somerset County to whom the foregoing writt was directed Likewise Cometh and maketh return thereof to the Court here Endorsed in these words following Cepi Corpus P Joseph MccClester sher Whereupon the said Hugh Stephenson by W.m Beckingham his attorney Comes and defends the force and Injury when &.a and prays Leave thereof to Imparle hereuntill the next Court and he hath it and the Same day is given to the afd George here also &a Att which said next Court to witt the Fifteenth day of June anno Dom One thousand seven hundred and thirty Six whereupon the dispute in this action is Reffered by the Court and Consent of the parties to William Stoughton James Martin and William Lane of Somerset County Gent or any two of them and their award to be returned to this Court Immediately that Judgment may be given thereon afterwards in the Same Court Came the afd William Stoughton James Martin and William Lane the Gent in the afd Rule of referrence mentioned and Made Return to the Court here of their award in the premisses as followeth viz.t Whereas by a rule made in Somerset County Court in June Court seventeen hundred and thirty six a Difference between George Trewitt plf.t and Hugh Stevenson Def.t then depending in the same Court was Submitted to the determination of us the Subscribers as by the same rule may appear we hereby certifie that in Compliance with the said rule have heard the Allegations of both parties and the Wittnesses by them produced and do arbitrate and award that the said Hugh Stevenson do pay and satisfie unto the af.d George Trewitt six shillings Currant money being in satisfaction of one hogg (that) |
