192 Creek for the same County the third Tuesday of August next and do not answer unto his said Lordship of and concerning of such matters and things as shall be then and there objected against him on his said Lordships Behalfe and do not stand and abide the Judgment of the Court thereon and do depart the same Court without Leave and in the meane time if he be not of the good behaviour towards his said Lordship and all others his good people and more Especially toward the afd Francis Allen &c
Esq.r and his associates the said Lord Proprietarys his Justices of the same County Court and for the same Lord Proprietary doth give the Same Justices hereto understand & be Informed that Rachel Fruman late of All hallows parish in the County afd spinster the last day of February in the Year of our Lord God Seven hundred & thirty five at the parish afd in the County afd within the Jurisdiction of this Court did Committ fornication with a Certain person to the Court here unknown and did permitt the Same unknown person then & there to have Carnall Knowledge of her body & and did ^to begett^ then & there a bastard Child in the body of her the Same Rachell to the high displeasure of almighty God to the Evill Example of all others in such case offending contrary to the peace of the said Lord proprietary that now is his good rule and Goverment and against the form of the act of assembly in such case lately made and provided &.a Whereupon the same attorney of the same Lord proprietary for the same Lord proprietary prayeth the advise of the Court here in the primisses and that due process of Law in this part against the af.d Rachel to answer unto the said Lord proprietary of and upon the primisses &c Thereupon Command was given to the sheriff of Somerset County that he Should take the said Rachell Fruman if &.a to answer &.a and afterwards to witt the fifteenth day of June anno Dom One thousand Seven hundred & thirty Six before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset now here held at dividing Creek in and for the same County Came the said Rachell Fruman in her proper person and had a hearing of the Information afd and being Instantly demanded ^how^ she would acquitt herselfe of the premisses afd above upon her Imposed saith that of the premisses afd above upon her Imposed she is guilty thereof and makes oath that a Certain Samuel Roberts is the father of the Child she now stands prosecuted for and is willing to pay her fine for the same whereupon all and Singular the premisses by the Court here seen heard and fully understood It is Considered by the Justices here that the afd Rachel Fruman pay unto his Lordship the Right honrble the Lord Proprietary for her fine by the Court hereupon her Imposed for and by Occasion of the premisses afd whereof in form afd she is Convict thirty shillings Curr.t money of Maryland and that the said Rachell Fruman be taken to satisfie his said Lordship of the fine afd &a whereupon the said Rachell Fruman is ordered to give security for the payment of the Severall Officers Fees due by occasion of the premisses afd Thereupon Benjamin Derickson of Somerset County planter present herein Court in his proper) |
