                            On the Backside of the foregoing Bill of Indictment it was thus Endorsed
       vizt Billa Vera Robert Jones Foreman

                                  Thereupon Command was given to the sheriff of Somerset County that
he should take the aforesaid Hannah Blak if &a to answer &a and afterwards to witt the
Seventeenth day of June anno Dom One thousand seven hundred and thirty five before the
Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset now held at dividing Creek in the Same County
Came the afd Hannah Blake in her proper person and had a hearing of the Indictment afd
and being Instantly demanded how she would acquitt herselfe of the premisses aforesaid by
the Indictment above upon her Imposed says that she is Guilty thereof &a

    Whereupon all and Singular the premisses by the Court here seen heard & fully understood
it seems to the Court here that the afd Hannah Black is a black woman and does not Come
within the act of assembly to be punished for adultery or fornication &a

       It is thereupon Considered by the Justices here that the afd Hannah Black be quiet &
goe thereof without day &a  also it is Considered that the said Hannah Blacke give Security
for the payment of the Severall Officers Fees due by Occasion of the premisses afd  thereupon
a Certain Edmond Hough of Somerset County Gent present herein Court undertakes for to pay
the Severall Officers Fees due as afd &a

 Somerset County ss    The Jurors for the Right honourable ^the^ Lord Proprietary
that now is for the Body of Somerset County afd upon
their Oath do present that Winifred Abdon late of Stepney
Parish in the County afd Spinster the twentyeighth Day of March in
the Year of our Lord God Seventeen hundred thirty and five at the Parish
afd in the County afd within ye Jurisdiction of this Court did commit
Fornication with a Certain person to the Jurors afd unknown
and did permit the Same unknown person then and there to have
carnal knowledge of her Body and to b^e^gett then and there a Basterd
Child on the body of her the same Winifred to the high Displeasure
of almighty God to the Evil Example of all others in such
                                                                            Cases
