          November Court        1733     93

the County afd within the afd Jurisdiction delivered the said Negroe woman to the said
John to be safe kept and to the said John Redelivered when he should be afterwards thereto
required  Nevertheless the said John the afd Negroe woman to the said Amos hath not
delivered but the same to him hitherto to deliver hath altogether refused and still doth refuse
altho' the same Negroe to the said Amos to deliver the said John was afterwards
viz on the Second day of June in the year afd at the county afd and within the afd
Jurisdiction and often afterwards by the said Amos required  whereupon the said
Amos says he is damnified sixty pounds Current money and thereof he brings suit &a

And the afd John Purnall by Francis Allen his attorney Comes and defends the force and Injury when &a
and prays Leave thereof to Imparle here unto untill next Court and he hath it and the Same day is Given to the
Amos here also &a

          Att which said next Court to witt the twenty first day of the November anno Dom One thousand Seven
hundred and thirty two Came again as well the afd Amos Woodward as the afd John Purnall by their attorneys
aforesaid  And whereupon the Same John prays further Leave thereof to Imparle here untill next Court and
he hath it and the same day is given to the afd Amos here also &a

          Att which said next Court to witt the Twentieth day of March ann.o Dom One thousand
seven hundred and thirty Two came again as well the afd Amos Woodward as the afd
John Purnall by their attorneys afd  and whereupon the same John prays further
Leave ^thereof^ to Imparle hereuntill next Court and he hath it and the same day is given to
the afd Amos here also &a

          Att which said next Court to witt the Nineteenth day of June Ann.o Dominie
One thousand seven Hundred and thirty three Came again as well the afd Amos Woodward
as the afd John Purnall by their attorneys afd and whereupon the same John
prays further leave thereof to Imparle hereuntill next Court and he hath it and
the same day is given to the aforesaid Amos here also &a

          Att which said next court to witt the twenty first day of August Anno Dom
One thousand seven hundred and thirty three came again as well the afd Amos ^Woodward^ as
the afd John ^Purnall^ by their attorneys afd and whereupon the same John prays further
Leave ^thereof^ to Imparle hereuntill next Court and he hath it the same day is given to
the afd Amos here also &a

          Att which said Court to Witt the Twentieth day of November ann.o Domr One
Thousand seven hundred and Thirty three Came again as well the afd Amos ^Woodward^ as the
afd John ^Purnall^ by Their attorneys afd and whereupon the same John Says that he Cannot Gainsay
the action afd of the afd Amos nor Can he Say but that he doth detain from the afd Amos the afd Negro
woman of the Value of thirty pounds Currant money as the afd Amos above against him hath declared
&a
                            Therefore it is Considered that the afd Amos Woodward Recover against the afd
John Purnall the afd Negro woman or the afd Thirty pounds Currant money for Vallue of the same
348   as also Three hundred & forty Eight                     pounds of tobacco for his Costs and Charges
to the same Amos of his assent by the Court here adjudged and the afd deft in Mercy &a
