(224) of the said Vestry then and there faithfully did promise that he the said John the said Sixteen thousand nine hundred and twenty Eight pounds of Tobacco to the said Alexander and the rest of the said Vestry when thereof afterwards he should be required well and faithfully would pay and content and altho' the af.d John did afterwards pay and Satisfie unto the said Alexander and the rest of the said Vestry Eight thousand Six hundred Ninety seven pounds of Tobacco parcell of the said Sixteen thousand two hundred and thirty one pounds of Tobacco the residue of the said Sixteen thousand nine hundred and twenty Eight pounds of Tobacco his promise and assumption af.d in no sort regarding but minding and fraudulently intending the same Alexander and the rest of the said Vestry in that part craftily and Subtily to deceive and defraud the af.d Eight thousand two hundred and thirty One pounds of tobacco or any part thereof to the said Alexander Adams and the rest of the said Vestry or to any or either of them hath not paid or them for the same in any sort contented but the same to them to pay (altho' often thereunto particularly on the first day of April in the year of our Lord Seventeen hundred and thirty two and often afterwards at the County af.d Requested) or for the same in any Sort to content hitherto altogether hath refused and still doth refuse to the damage of the said Alexander and the rest of the said Vestry Sixteen thousand four hundred and Sixty two pounds of Tobacco and thereupon he brings Suit &.a pledges &.a John Doe & R.d Roe
