Command was given to the sher of somerset County that he should take Dennis
Hudson Late of somerset County planter if he should be found in his bailywick and
him should safe keep so that he might have his body before the Justices of his Lordships
County Court of Somerset to be held at dividing Creek in the County afd the third Tuesday
of June then next to answer Levin Gale Esqr in a plea of trespass upon the Case &.a and that thereof he
should not fail &.a                  Att which said third Tuesday of June to witt the Eighteenth day of the same
month Ann Dom One thousand seven hundred and thirty four being the day of the return of the said
Writt Cometh the said Levin Gale by William Beckingham his attorney and the sherriff of somerset County
to whom the foregoing writt was directed likewise cometh and maketh return thereof to the Court here Endorsed
in these words following viz.t Cepi Corpus p Joshua Caldwell sherriff

And the said Dennis Hudson by Francis Allen his attorney Comes and defends the force and Injury when &.a
and prays Leave thereof to Imparle hereuntill next Court and he hath it & the same day is given to the afd
Levin Gale herealso &.a                        Att which said next Court to witt the twentieth day of August
Ann Dom One thousand seven hundred and thirty four Came again as well the af.d Levin Gale by his
Attorney afd as the afd Dennis Hudson by his attorney af.d and because the af.d Levin Gale did not declare
against the said Dennis Hudson in the plea af.d according to a Certain rule of Court by the parties af.d
Entred into &.a   Therefore he and his pledges of prosecuting be in mercy and lett the plantiff name
pledges &.a  and that the afd Dennis Hudson goe thereof without day also it is Considered that the af.d Dennis
Hudson recover against the af.d Levin Gale his damages by Occasion of the premisses to one hundred &
149   Ninty Four                                       pounds of tobacco to the same Dennis Hudson by discretion
of the Justices here at his request for his Costs and Charges in that part sustained according to the form
of the statute thereof lately made and provided &.a
