(140) Creek &a Ordered by the Court that William Dashiell be Overseer of the Roads from Callaways Tree a Long the Road to Nanticok Ferry and from the head of Tipquin along the road towards Stepney Church as far as Thomas Ralph used to Clear &a Ordered that Southy Whittington be Overseer of the Road from Nasseongo Bridge to Lodowicks Savannough Ordered that John Webb be overseer of the road from Pocomoke Ferry halfe way the Causway and from the high Laid at the upper End of the Causeway to Littletons bridge and from the said Causway to Benstons dams and from Smith Mills's to John Merrills ^mill^ & from thence to the afd Causway at Pocomoke &a Ordered that Richard Hickman Sen.r be overseer of the road from Burch Branch to the head of Peppers Creek &a Ordered that Coll Robert King be Overseer of the Roads from Rackoone point to Kings Mill and from thence up trading Branch on the northermost side thereof to the new bridge over the said Branch & from thence thro' the bear Swamp to a tree dividing from Isaac Coston and from Kings Mill up the Southermost side of the said trading branch untill it Intersects the road that goes thro' the bear Swamp and from his Own Gate to a tree Standing at the northermost End of the Long Causway dividing it from Nicholas Fountain &a
Whereas the aforesaid Hugh in his Life Time (to Witt) the Twenty Sixth Day of March in the Year of Our Lord One thousand seven hundred and thirty at Somerset County aforesaid and Within the Jurisdiction of this Court was Indebted unto the said John in the Sum of thirty Two pounds five Shillings and Six pence Curr.t money of Maryland and the quantity of One thousand two hundred Eighty five and a halfe pounds of tobacco for divers goods wares and Merchantdizes as by an acco.t here annexed into Court brought may appear and so being thereof Indebted the afd Hugh in his Lifetime afterwards (to witt) the day and year afd at the plane afd within the Jurisdiction afd in Consideration thereof upon himselfe did assume and to the said John then and there faithfully promise that he the said Hugh the aforesaid Thirty Two pounds five Shillings and Six pence and One thousand Two hundred Eighty five and a half pounds of Tobacco aforesaid unto the said John when he should be thereunto afterwards requested Would Well and faithfully pay and Content and Altho' the said Hugh in his Life Time Seventeen pounds Eight shillings part of the said Thirty Two pounds five Shillings and Six pence to the said John be paid and satisfied Yet as Fourteen pounds seventeen Shillings and Six pence residue thereof and the said Quantity of One thousand Two hundred Eighty five and a half |
