117 give Recognizance with one security for his appearance before the Justices of his Lordships County Court of Somerset to be held at dividing Creek in and for the same County the third tuesday of June next to answer unto a bill of Indictment for fornication and begetting of a bastard Child on the body of her the same Alice Hopkins &a Thereupon the said Thomas Larimore Jun.r with John Larimore his security of Somerset County planters both present here in Court in their proper persons acknowledged themselves Indebted unto his Lordship the Lord proprietary in the Sum of Twenty pounds Sterling Each good and Lawfull money of of their Severall Goods and Chattells Lands and tenements seperately to be made and Levied to the Use of his said Lordship his heirs and Successors to be made and Levied If it Happen that the afd Thomas Larrimore Jun.r do not make his personall appearance before the Justices of his Lordships the Lord proprietarys County Court of Somerset to be held at dividing Creek in and for the same County the third tuesday of June next and do not Answer unto a Certain bill of Indictment against him for fornication and begetting of a bastard Child on the body of the afd Alice Hopkins and do not stand and abide the Judgment of the Court thereof and do depart thence without Leave &a
Within the Jurisdiction of this Court in and upon a Certain Samuel Cooper in the peace of God and of the same Lord proprietary then and there being with force and arms an assault did make and the said Samuel then and there did beat would and Evilly treat so that of this Life it was Greatly Dispaired and Other Harms to him then and there did to the Great Damage of the same Samuel and against the Peace of the said Lord proprietary that now is his Good Rule and Government &a Test SAmuel Cooper, James Townsend, Mary Wonnell On the backside of the Foregoing Bill of Indictment it was Endorsed viz.t Billa Vera Samuel Wilson foreman Thereupon Command was given tot he sheriffe of Somerset County that he Should take ye said Ambross Riggin if &a to answer &a and afterwards to witt the ninteenth day of march anno Dom One thousand seven hundred and thirty three before the Justices of his Lordships the Lord proprietarys County Court of Somerset now held at Dividing Creek in and ^for^ the County afd Came the said Ambross Riggin in his proper person and being Instantly demanded how he would acquitt himselfe of the premisses afd above upon him Imposed says that he will not plead with his said Lord ^prory^ but submitts with a protestation of his Innocency and puts himselfe upon the favour of the Court &a whereupon all and Singular the premisses by the Court here seen heard and fully understood It is Considered by the Court here that the said Ambross Riggin |
