We by the Information of Robert Givans and James Caldwell do present Capt Joseph Venables
for not using nor Educating of Mercy Givins, William Givans, George Givans and Jane Givans
according to their Estates Nicholas Fountain Foreman
                 And the afd Joseph Venables by William Beckingham his attorney Comes and prays the Court that the presentment
           afd may be quashed for as much as the Same is not Good in Law &.c  Therefore it is Considered by the
        Court here that the presentm.t aforesaid be quashed &c

Mary Windsor al.s Miller
We of the Grand Jury do present Mary Windsor now the wife of Thomas Miller of
Somerset parish for bearing of a bastard Child on or about the 30.th of aprill anno Dom
1731           And afterwards the fifteenth day of June Ann.o Dom One thousand Seven hundred
                                     and thirty One Cometh herein Levin Gale who for his Said Lordship in this behalfe prosecutes
       and Saith here in Court that he will noe farther prosecute against the afd Mary Windsor al.s Miller on the
       presentment afd            Therefore it is Considered by the Court here that the afd Mary Miller Windsor al.s Miller Goe
       be quiet and Goe thereof without day &c


Ordered by the Court here that John Bevans be Overseer in Pocomoke hundred with John Dennis Jun.r Sen.r and
they to be Joynt Overseer of the Roads in the Indian town according to the former directions &c

Ordered by the Court that Mathew Hopkins be Overseer of the roads in Mattapony Hundred in Stead of John
Scarbrough &c

John Huett Nutter
We of the Grand Jury for the body of Somerset County do present John Huett Nutter
Living in Nanticoke hundred in Stepny parish for un Lawfully beating and
abusing William Murray a Lad belonging to Martha Goldsmith upon the road that
Leads from manocan to Parahawkin upon the fifteenth day of march ann.o 1730

             Thereupon Command was Given to the Sher of Somerset County that he Should take the Said John
Huett Nutter if &.c to answer &.c and afterwards herein Court the fifteenth day of June anno Dom one
thousand Seven hundred and thirty One Came herein Court the Said John Huett Nutter in his proper person
aforesaid afd Says that of the premisses afd so as aforesaid above upon him Imposed he is Guilty thereof whereupon
all and Singuall the premisses by the Court here Seen heard and fully understood

       Wherefore it is Considered by the Court here that the aforesaid John Huett Nutter pay unto his Said Lordship
the Lord proprietary five hundred pounds of tobacco for his fine for or by Occasion of the premisses
above upon him Imposed and that the Said John Huett Nutter be taken to Satisfie his Said Lordship of the
fine afd &c

We of the Grand Inquest for the body of Somerset County do present Sarah Jackson of Somerset
Parish Servant to Lewis Riggsby for bastard Bearing Last may or thereabouts Dorman Heath
Informer           Charles Rackliffe Informer     Foreman
Thereupon Command was Given to the Sher of Somerset County that he Should take the Said Sarah Jackson if &c to
answer &c  and afterwards to witt June the fifteenth day One thousand Seven hundred and thirty One Came the
Said Sarah Jackson in her proper persona nd being by the Sher set to the barr is thereupon Instantly
demanded how She would acquitt herselfe of the premisses afd above upon her Imposed Says that She is
