                                         Benjamin Houston Late of Somerset County planter was attached
to answer unto Christopher Glass of a plea of trespass upon the Case &c
And whereupon the Said Christopher by Francis Allen his attorney Commands that whereas the said Benjamin the first
day of march anno Dom One thousand Seven hundred and thirty at Somerset County within the Jurisdiction of this Court was
Indebted unto the Said Christopher in Sixteen pounds two ^Six^ Shillings and Seven pence halfe penny Currant mony
of maryland it being the ballance of an account to the Said Christopher by the Said Benjamin at that time due owing
and unpaid as by an account hereunto annexed may in Court appear and being so thereof Indebted the said
Benjamin in Consideration thereof the day and year aforesaid of the place aforesaid in the County aforesaid upon
himselfe did assume and to the said Benjamin the afd Sixteen pounds five shillings
and seven pence half penny to the said Christopher when he should be thereunto
Requested he would well and faithfully pay and content  Nevertheless the said Benj.a
his promise and assumption aforesaid if forme aforesaid made Nothing Regarding
Butt plotting and fraudulently Intending the said Christopher in that part Craftilly
and Subtilly to Deceive and Defraud the said Sixteen pounds Six Shillings and
Seven pence half penny to the said Christopher altho the same to do the said Benj.a
by the said Christopher on the afd first day of march in the year aforesd and often
afterwards at the county afd within the Jur afd he was thereunto Requested
hath not paid or contented but the same to him hetherto to pay or content hath
Refused and still doth Refuse and Deny To the Damage of the said Christopher
of thirty four pounds money afd and thereupon he brings suit &.c
