within the Jurisdiction of this Court was Indebted unto the Said Joseph in Seventy four pounds EIght Shillings
Currant of money of New england as by acco.t hereunto annexed may appear and being so thereof Indebted the
Said Henry in Consideration thereof afterwards to witt the day and year aforesaid at the place aforesaid within
the Jurisdiction aforesaid upon himselfe did assume and to the Said Joshua then & there did faithfully promise that
he the said Henry the said Seventy four pounds Eight Shillings and Eight pence to the Said Joshua
when he Should be afterwards thereunto requested he would well and faithfully pay and
Content and altho the said Henry Fifty one pounds fifteen Shillings and four pence
to the said Joshua he hath paid and Satisfied yett as to twenty two pounds thirteen
Shillings and four pence residue of the aforesd Seventy four pounds Eight Shillings
and Eight pence to the said Henry his promise and assumption aforesd in forme
aforesd Made Nothing regarding but plotting and fraudulently Intending the
said Joshua in that pte Craftilly and Subtilly to Deceive and Defraud the said
twenty two pounds thirteen shillings an d four pence to the said Joshua
altho' the same to do the said Henry by the said Joshua on the aforesd thirtieth day
of october in the Year aforesd and often afterwards at Somerset County afd
within the Jur aforesd he was thereunto requested hath not paid or Contented
but the same to him hitherto ^to^ pay or Content hath refused and Still doth
refuse and Deny to the damage of the said Joshua of twenty pounds Curr.t
money of Maryland  And thereupon he brings Suit &.c

Then Joshua Ward made Oath to the truth of
the above acco.t viz.t that the Severall Articles of
Deb.ts amounting to seventy four pounds
Eight ^Shills & 8d are Just and true^ according to the best of his
knowledge Jurat Coram Benj.a Lynde Junr Jus

hundred and thirty Came againe as well the afd Joshua Ward as the afd Henry Williams by their attorney
afd and whereupon the Said Henry prayed further Leave thereof to Imparle here untill the next Court and
