Called Purnalls Adventure Wee the Subscribers being qualified according to act of assembly have met on ye Said
Land and proceed to examine the only evidence produced to us who is Thomas Robins Sen.r and being sworn on the holy
evangelist saith that ^about^ Twenty Six or seven Years past he in Company with a Certain James Smith Carpenter in Looking
for timber to make Cills for his house Came nigh to Nehemiah Hollands the Elder his then plantation now the plantation
of Nehemiah Holland the Younger and Saw a black Gum tree marked on three sides upon which discovery of
Said tree he went to Nehemiah the elder aforesaid and asked of him what Corner Marked Gum that was by his
fence or plantation the Said Nehemiah answered it was a Corner tree of his Land Called Purnalls adventure and
Consequently the Corner tree of the Second Courses extent or third boundary which tree was then dead and since
Rotten and quite Gone the place that it then Stood in the Said Thomas Robins on his Oath aforesaid hath Shewed to
us the Subscribers and further Saith not but in order to perpetuate the memory of the place aforesaid the
Said Nehemiah Holland Thomas Robins hath mutually agreed and have marked another Swell Black Gum
tree very near unto where the former Stood on three sides as the other was marked being apprehensive of
no damage answering thereby for that noe other Lands are contiguous or have dependance thereon which afd
place and tree now marked we Certifie be very near unto the Southermost Corner of the now dwelling
plantation of Nehemiah Holland the Younger and in Confirmation hereof we the Commissioners present
have hereunto Set Our hands this fourteenth day of November anno Dom 1730

Somerset ss     Charles absolute Lord and proprietary of the provinces of maryland and

avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore &.c  To Edward Rownd, James Rownd, John Donelson &
    James Martin of Somersett ^County^ Gentleman Greeting Know Yee that we have appointed you or any three or two of
    you to be Our Commissioners to Examine Evidences on Behalfe of a Certain John Purnell Jun.r of
    the County af.d in the relation to the Bounds of a tract of Land Lying in the County aforsaid Containing
    Eight hundred Acres Called fait field we therefore require You or any three or two of you
    at some time and place as to you or any three or two of you Shall Seem Convenient you Meet on
    the af.d Land Called fair field (you first having taken your Oath on the Holy Evangelist of Almighty
    God According to Act of Assembly in Such Case made and provided) and there Cause to
    Come before you or any three or two of you all Such Evidences as Shall be to you or any

    three or two of you Nominated by the Said Complainent (or Def.t if any) and that you Examine
    them upon their Corporall Oaths to be by you or any three or two of you Administred on the
    Holy Evangelist of Almighty God in prsents of the Complainant (or Def.t if any) touching the
    truth or Remembrances of their Knowledg or anything that may relate to the Cause af.d and that
    reduceing the Severall Depositions into Writing you Send the Same together with this our
    Commission under Your or any three or two of your Hands to us to Our County Co.t of Sumrset
    with all Convenient Speed Wittness William Planner Gent One of Our Justices of our said Co.t
    the 20th day of March in the 16.th Year of our domminion &.c Ann.o Dom 1729
   
    On the back side of the foregoeing Commission it was Endorst and Likewise to the Same Commission it was
    Annexed as followeth vizt 7b.r 30.th 1730   Came James Martin and James Rownd and Qualified
    themselves before me in Relation to the within [illegible] the day and
