County af.d within the Jur af.d upon himselfe did Assume and to the Said John then and there did faithfully promise
that he the Said John when he should be thereunto requested he would well and faithfully pay & Content  Nevertheless
the said Mathew his promise and assumption af.d in forme af.d made nothing regarding but plotting and fraudulently
Intending the Said Jn.o in that pte Craftilly and Subtilly to Deceive and Defraud the Said Sixteen pounds Seventeen
shilling and ten pence for the said John altho the same to do the same Mathew by the Said John on the af.d Eight day
of Aprill in the year af.d and often afterwards at the County af.d within the Jur af.d he was thereunto requested
hath not paid or to him for the same in any wise Contented but the Same to him to ^pay^ of or in any sort to
Content hath hitherto altogether refused & still doth refuse and deny to the damage of the said John of thirty
Pounds money af.d  And thereupon he brings suit &.a

                A Coppy of the foregoing [illegible] with the writt in the
    plea aforesaid &.c
                                     Att which said third tuesday of June to witt the sixteenth day of June anno Dom One thousand
    Seven hundred and thirty being the day of the Return of the Said Writt Cometh the Said John [illegible]
afd and the Sher of Somerset County to whom the foregoeing writt was directed ^likewise^ Comes and makes Return thereof
to the Court here endorsed viz.t Cepi Corpus decl delivered in time P John Purnall sher

                Whereupon the Said Mathew Dogan in his Own proper person appears and thereupon ye
Said Mathew Dogan at the prayer of the plft by his attorney aforesaid is adjudged to Give Speciall
bail to action aforesaid but for want thereof the Said Mathew Dogan is Committed into the Custody of the
Sherr of Somerset County thereto remain &.c the Said Sher fine therein Court to witt John Purnall by
John Dennis Jun.r his deputy present here in Court took Charge of the Said Mathew Dogan accordingly &c

          And afterwards the Said Mathew Dogan in Custody as aforesaid by James Shirly his attorney Comes and
defends the force and Injury when &.c and Saith that he did not assume upon himselfe in manner
and form as the aforesaid John Stewart above against him hath Complained and of this he putts himselfe
upon the Country &c        And the plft in Like manner

                   Whereupon Command is Given to the Sher of Somerset County County that Immediately he Cause to
come here twelve &.c by whom &.c who neither &.c to recognize &.c of wh because as well &c of which Said preceipt the
Said Sherr to witt John Purnall Gent now hereat this day to witt the Same day and Year Last mentioned makes
return that he hath here ready twelve &.c as by his said preceipt he was Commanded and now hereafterwards
to witt the Same day and Year Came as well the aforesaid plft as the afd deft by their attorneys aforesaid and
