                                  Att a Court of the right honrble Charles absolute Lord and proprietary of the provinces of Maryland and
avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore &c held at dividing Creek in Somerset County by his Said Lordship's Commissioners and
Justices the peace to keep (assigned) the third tuesday of November being Seventeenth day of the Same month and in the
Sixteenth Year of his Said Lordships Dominion &.c   anno Dom 1730

                Proclamation being made in Common form   His Lordships Commission of the peace for the County
of Somerset being here produced was Read in these words following viz.t

       Maryland ss   Charles absolute Lord and proprietary of the provinces of Maryland and avalon Lord Baron of
Baltemore &.c  To Samuel Hopkins, William Planner, John Jones, William Fausit John Smith Baltemore hundred, Wm
Stoughton, John Caldwell, John MccClester, John Handy, James Dashiells, John Scott and Robert King of Somerset Gent
Greeting Know ye that we have assigned you and every or you Joyntly and Seperately Our Justices to keep our peace
within County of Somerset and to do equall Law and Right to all the Kings Subjects Rich and poor according to
the directions of the acts of Assembly of Our Said province so far forth as they provide and where they are
Silent according to the Reasonable Customs of England and the Laws and Statutes thereof as are or Shall hereafter
be Enacted agreeable to the Usage or Constitution of the Same province for the Conservation of the peace
and Quiet Rule and Government of the Kings Subjects within Our Said County and to Chastize and punish
all persons offending against the same acts Customs Laws and Statutes or any of them according to the directions
thereof and to Call before you or any of you all those who in Our County aforesaid Shall threaten to do any bodily harm
to any of the King Subjects or to burn their houses or Otherwise break Our peace and misbehave themselves to
find Sufficient Security of the peace and good behaviour to us and the Said Subjects and if they Shall refuse
to find such Security that then you Cause them to be Committed into Safe Custody untill they Shall be delivered by
due Course of Law from thence also we have assigned you and every three or more of you of whom we will
you the Said Samuel Hopkins, William Planner, John Jones, W.m Fasitt, and John Smith or one of you allways
to be One of Our Justices to Enquire by the Oaths of Good and Lawfull men of our County aforesaid by
whom the truth of the premisses may be the better known of all and all manner of Felonyes which Crafts Enchantments
Sorceries, arts, Magick, trespasses engrossings regratings forestallings and Extortions whatsoever
and of all other misfeazances whatsoever of which Justices of our peace Lawfully may or ought to enquire
by whomsoever or howsoever in Our County afd done or Committed or which May hereafter happen to be
done or Committed and also of all those who in Our County afd in Riotous manner have gone or road
or Shall hereafter presume to Goe or ride with armed force against Our peace to the disturbance of the
Kings Subjects and of all Such who in Our County afd have Lain or Shall hereafter presume to Lye
in wait to main or kill any of the Kings Subjects and also of all Ordinary Keepers and Other
persons who have Offended or hereafter Shall presume to Offend in the abuse of weights and or
