Somrsett County ss   Jones Ricketts late of Somrsett County planter
                               was attached to answer unto Charles Ramsey of a
                               plea of Trespass upon ye Case

And Whereupon the sd Charles by Francis Allen his attorny Complains
that whereof the sd Jones the first day of March Anno Dom seventeen
hundred & twenty five at Somrsett County afores.d within the Jurisdiction
of this Cort in Consideration that he the sd Charles at the Special Instance
& request of the sd Jones before y.t time had Gott Loggs & Sett up a pasture
fence upon the sd Jones his Plantation in Somrsett County aforsd within
ye Jur aforesd for him the sd Jones he the sd Jones then & there upon
himself did assume and faithfully promise that the sd Charles that he the
sd Jones would satisfie & pay to us the sd Jones one young Mare of
three years old to be worth two pounds tenn shillings currt mony of
Maryland   Nevertheless the aforesd Jones his promisse & assumption
aforesd in forme aforesd made nothing regarding but plotting &
fraudulently Intending the sd Charles in that part craftily &
subtilly to Deceive & Defraud One three year old Mare of the
value of two pounds tenn shillings Mony aforesd to the sd Charles altho'
the same to do the sd Jones by the sd Charles on the aforesd first
day of March in the year aforesd & often afterwards at Somrsett
County aforesd he was thereunto requested hath not paid or to him
for the same in any sort Content but the same to him hitherto
to pay or in any sort for the same to Content hath altogether refused
and still doth refuse & Deny  To the Damage of the sd Charles
of five pounds Curr.t mony of Maryland   And thereupon he brings
suite
