 Somerset County ss    Jones Records late of Somerset County planter was attached to answer unto
Charles Ramsey of a plea of trespass Upon the Case &c
          And whereupon the Said Charles by Francis Allen his attorney Complaines that whereas the said
Jones the first day of March Ann.o Dom Seventeen hundred and twenty Six at Somerset County
       aforesaid within the Jurisdiction of this Court in Consideration that he the Said Charles at the Speciall Instance and
       request of the Said Jones before that time had gott Loggs and Sett up a pasture fence upon the Said Jones his plantation
       in Somerset County aforesaid within the Jurisdiction afd for him the Said Jones he the Said Jones then and thereupon
       himselfe did assume and faithfully promise to the Said Charles that he the Said Jones would Satisfie and pay
       to him the Said Charles One Young mare of three Years old to be worth two pounds tenn Shillings Currant money of Maryland
       Nevertheless the afd Jones his promise and assumption aforesaid in form aforesaid made nothing Regarding but
       plotting and fraudulently Intending the said Charles in that part Craftilly and Subtilly to deceive and defraud one three
       Year old mare of the value of two pounds tenn Shillings mony aforesaid to the Said Charles altho' the Same to do
       the Said Jones by the Said Charles on the aforesaid first day of march in the Year aforesaid and often afterwards at
       Somerset County afd he was thereunto Requested hath not paid or to him for the Same in any Sort Content but the
       Same to him hitherto to pay or in any Sort for the Same to Content hath altogether refused and Still doth refuse
       and deny to the damage of the Same Charles of five pounds Currant mony of Maryland thereupon he brings
       Suit &.c               F Allen P Qrte  Pledges de P      Jno Doe R Roe

                               And the aforesaid Jones Records by George Dashiell his attorney Comes and defends the force and Injury
       when &.c and prays Leave to Imparle here untill the next Court and he hath it and the Same day is Given to ye
       aforesaid plft here also

                         Att which said next Court to witt the Eighteenth day of November ann.o Dom One thousand Seven hundred & twenty
       Nine Came again as well the afd Charles as the afd Jones by their attorneys afd and whereupon the Same Jones prays
       further Leave thereof to Imparle here untill the next Court and he hath it and the Same day is given to the afd plft
       here also

                               Att which said next Court to witt the Seventeenth day of March anno Dom One thousand Seven hundred
       and twenty Nine Came againe as well the afd plft as the afd deft by their attorneys afd and whereupon the SAme
       deft prays further Leave to Imparle here untill the next Court and he hath it and the Same day is Given
       to the afd plft here also

                                  Att which said next Court to witt the Sixteenth day of June anno Dom One thousand Seven hundred
       and thirty Came againe as well the afd plft as the afd deft by their attorneys aforesaid and whereupon the Same
       deft prays further Leave thereof to Imparle here untill the next Court and he hath it and the Same day is Given to the
       aforesaid plft here also

                                              Att which said next Court to witt the Eighteenth day of august ann.o Dom One thousand
       Seven hundred and thirty Came again as well the aforesaid plft as the aforesaid deft by their attorneys afd
