223 to pay the fine aforesaid and the Severall Officers their fees due by means of the premisses thereupon William Planner of Somerset County Gentleman present here in Court undertakes for the Said Paul Cragen to pay the fine aforesaid and the Severall Officers Fees due by occasion of the premisses &c Likewise it is further Ordered by the Court here that the afd Paul Cragen Give Security to save & Keep Indempnified from time to time and at all times forever hereafter the Justices of Somerset County and their Successors for the time being as also the Inhabitants of the Same County from all Costs Charges & troubles whatsoever that might accrew by means of a bastard Child Lately begott on the Body of Perthenia Taylor &c Whereupon the aforesaid William Planner present herein Court in his proper person acknowledged himselfe to Owe and be Indebted unto Charles absolute Lord and proprietary of the provinces of Maryland &c in the Sum of twenty pounds Currant money of Maryland of his body goods and Chattells Land and tenements to be made and Levied to the Use of Somerset County If it happen the aforesaid Paul Cragen do not from time to time and at all times hereafter acquitt discharge and save harmless as well the Justices of Somerset County and their Successors for the time being as also the Inhabitants of the Same County of and from all Costs Charges and troubles for or by Reason of the birth Maintainance nourishing and bringing up of a bastard Child Lately begott of a Certain Parthenia Taylor and of and from all other Suits Charges troubles and demands whatsoever touching or Concerning the Same &c
Charles absolute Lord and proprietary of the provinces of Maryland in ten pounds Sterling of his Goods and Chattells Lands and tenements to the Use of his said Lordship his heirs and Successors to be made and Levied if it Happen the aforesaid Nehemiah Hearn do not make his personall appearance before the Justices of his said Lordships County Court of Somerset to be held at dividing Creek the third tuesday of August next and do not answer unto his Said Lordship of and Concerning the premisses and do not Stand and abide the Judgmt of the Court thereupon and not depart the Same Court without Leave &c then the above recognizance to be in full force & Vertue otherwise &c
