Lying in the County aforesd Called Golden Lyon which Said James Nairne
to gather with William Holland and the said John owten ware duly Qualified and
Sworn and together with them did take the Depositions of the Severall Wittnesses
Concerning the bounds of the ^said^ Land and the Same reduced in writing and the
Same did truly read in presence of the Said John Riggin to the Severall
Subscribing Wittnesses and made return of the Same to the Worshipfull the
Justices of the Said Court According to the Directions of the Said Comission
truly faithfully and honestly Nevertheless the aforesd John Riggin being
not Ignorent of the Premises of his mear and wicked Malice fore thought
Plotting and Malitiously Intending the good Name and fame of the Said
James Nairne to hurt detract and make worse these false Infamous
Scandilous and approbrious words folowing Concerning him the Said Jam.s
Nairne in the Presence and hearing of Sundry faithfull and Leidge Subjects
of our Lord the king the tenth day of March Ann Dom Seventeen hundred &
thirty at Somerset County aforesd within the Jur of this Court did falsely and
Malitiously Speak Publish Pronounce and rehearse Vizt   the Comissioners
(the Said James Nearne and Will.m Holland and John Outen with in the
Said Comission aforesd Joyned Meaning) have used me Very barbarously
(himself the Said John Riggin Meaning) for they writt one thing and
read another and what the Evidences Swore (the Evidences by them sworn
Meaning) they Sett down quite the Contrarey (the said James Nairne and
the other Commissioners again meaning) by reason of the Spaking of
w.ch false and Scandalous words the Said James Nearne in his good Name
and fame is Very mutch hurt and Sundry Sums of Money and tobacco
to Vindicate his goods Charater in that pte is forced to Lay out and Expend
Whereupon he Saith he is worse and hath Damage to the Value of fifty
Pounds Currant Money of Maryland and thereupon he brings Suit &c

And the aforesaid John Riggin Jun.r by William Beckingham his attorney Comes and defends the force and Injury when
&c and prays Leave ^thereof^ to Imparle here untill next Court and he hath It and the Same day is Given to the aforesaid
James here also &c

                Att which Said next Court to witt the seventeenth day of August Ann.o Dom One thousand Seven hundred
and thirty One Came againe as well the aforesaid James Nearn as the aforsaid John Riggin by their attorneys
aforesaid and whereupon the Same John prays further Leave thereof to Imparle here untill next
Court and he hath it and the Same day if Given to the aforesaid James Here also &c

       Att which Said Next Court to witt the Sixteenth day of November ann Dom One thousand Seven hundred
and thirty One Came againe as well the aforesaid James Nearn as the aforesaid John Riggin by their
