186 and David WIllson or any three or more of you as aforesaid to Issue out writts preceipts process and attachments and to hold plea of all actions popular and of all actions personall of what sort soever wherein the demand doth not Exceed the Sum of one hundred pounds Ster or thirty thousand pounds of Tobacco and all Actions personall now Depending before you and after Judgment Execution to award in all Such Cases and Actions aforesd according to the Laws Statutes and Ordinances aforesd in which Said Actions so to be tried wee Doe Constitute ordain and Appoint you the Said Robert King, William Fasitt, John Smith, Balt hund.d William Stoughton John Caldwell, John MccClester, John Handy, James Dashiel John Scott, James Martin, WIlliam Laine Thomas Williams Henry Ballard and David Wilson and None others to be Judges Alsoe by these presents we Doe Command and the Sher of our said County of Somerset that at the Severall Courts to be held for our said County he give his Attendance and Cause to come before you or any three or more of you as aforesd such and so many good and Lawfull men of his bailywick out of Each and Every hundred thereof by whom the truth of Matter in the premisses may be the better known and Enquired of Lastly you Shall Cause to be brought before you at your said Courts all Writts preceipts Process and Indictments to your Courts and Jurisdiction belonging that the Same may be Inspected and by due Course of Law determined Wittness our Trusty and well beloved Samuel Ogle Esq.r Lieu.t General and Chief Governour of our said Province of Maryland this Ninth day of May in the Eighteenth Year of our Dominion &c Ann Dom 1732 Sam Ogle On the backside of the foregoing Commission it was thus Endorsed viz.t Maryland ss Charles absolute Lord and proprietary of the provinces of Maryland and avalon Lord and proprietary of the provinces of Maryland and avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore &c To W.m Fasit John Smith Balt.r hundred W.m Stoughton, John Caldwell John MccClester John Handy and James Dashiel of Somerset County Gent Greeting we do hereby Authorize and Impower you or either of you to administer the Severall Oaths appointed by act of assembly to be taken to the Government as also the Oath of Justice in the words following viz.t You A B: do swear that as a Justice of his Lordships County Court you will well and truely Serve his Lordship and do equall right to all his Majesties Subjects to the best of your Cuning and Skill and Cause all fines and forfeitures and amerciaments which Shall happen to fall before you to be entered without Concealment you will not debar or hinder the prosecutor of Justice or take any Gift or Fee for the delaying of Judgm.t but Justly and truely abear yourselfe so Long as you Shall Continue in the Said Office of Justice as aforesaid so help you God unto Robert King John Scott, James Martin, Wm Lane Thomas Williams Henry Ballard and David Willson of |
