       Novem Court           1727    44

       when he shall arrive at the age of sixteen and to read and to find him meat drink washing
       lodging and Cloathing mete for such a Servant to have and wear during his Servitude afd &c

            Whereupon it is Ordered by the Court that the said George Stringer give recognizance
in twenty pounds Sterling to Comply with the Covenants afd &c

                   Thereupon the said George Stringer present here in Court acknowledged himselfe
to Owe and be Indebted unto the said Joshua Sasnett in the sum of twenty pounds Sterling
good and Lawfull mony of England to be Levied of his body goods or Chattells Lands or tenaments
for the Use of the said Joshua Sasnett his heirs and assignes if default be made in the Condition
hereunder written

          The Condition of the above recognizance is such that if the above Bound George Stringer
do and shall Learn the said Joshua Sasnett the trade of a Shoemaker and to read dureing his
Servitude and to give him a young Cow when he shall arrive at the age of sixteen Years and to
find him Sufficient meat drink washing Lodging and Cloathing mete for Such a Servant to have
and weare dureing his Servitude afd &c                                       then ye above recogn to be
void &c Otherwise &c

            To the worshipfull Justices of Somersett County
       now in court Sitting   the humble Pet.n of William Selby and James Martin
       sheweth that whereas your worships ordered John Dennis to Clear a road from the main
    Road Just by Mr Morris's through the Indian Town to Snow hill now so it is the Said
    road being cleared by the said John Dennis is of such  In Consequence to your worships
    petitioners that it deprives us of our Orchards and of keeping of Pastures in such places
    as may afford Our Creatures water with severall other Prejudices as your Petitioners will
    be ready to make appear to your worships             The premisses Considered and your
    worships Ordering of the said road to be altered will oblige your Petitioners to pray for
    your worships &c

                   The Petition afd being read ^& heard^ and mature deliberation thereupon had, Wherefore
    it is Considered by the Court that the ^said^ road be turned and that John Bevins and Will.m
    Laws lay out a new road from the afd Main road Just by Mr Morris's to Snow hill and
    that John Dennis Clear ye same according to their direction &c

John Roach of somersett County Comes here into court and brings with him his Servant
woman Mary Rickards who had absented herselfe out of his service thirty five days
and Prays the Court that according to law she may be adjudged to Serve him for the same &.c
