1727 43 And further it is Ordered by the Court that the said Samuel Dorman Give recognizance with two Securitys for to Comply with the Law in Every Respect in relation to Gardians and to deliver up unto the said William Stevens all the Estate that he hath in his hands both real and personall when he shall arrive at full age to receive the Same Peaceably and Quietly &c Whereupon the said Samuel Dorman together with Nicholas Fountain Jun.r and Solomon Tull all of Somersett County Planters Present here in court in their proper persons acknowledged themselves to Owe unto the Said William Stevens his heirs and assigns that is to say the said Saml Dorman the sum of twenty Pounds Sterling and the said Nicholas Fountain & Solomon Tull his Security the sum of ten Pounds Sterling Each to be Separately Levied upon their bodys goods or Chattells Lands or tenements for the Use of the Said William Stevens his heirs and assignes if Default be made in the Condition hereunder written The Condition of the above recognizance is such that if the above Bounden Sam.l Dorman do Comply in every respect with the Law in Relation to gardians and deliver up unto the said William Stevens Peaceably and quietly all his Estate that he hath in his hands both Real and Personall when he Shall arrive at full age to receive the Same &c then the above recognizance to be void and of None Effect Otherwise to remain force & virtue Samuel Dorman of Somersett County Planter agrees with the Justices of Somersett County Court to keep a ferry over Pocomoke river in the stead of Daniel Cordery and to find a good Boat and give good attendance for the Ferrying of man and horse over the afd river of Pocomoke and to keep that halfe of the Causway in repair that is next the ferry &c In consideration whereof the said Samuel Dorman is to be allowed for the Services afd the Sum of three thousand Six hundred pounds of tobacco by the Year &c Ordered by the Court that Philip Quinton be Overseer and Clear and repair that halfe of the Causway at Pocomoke ferry next the woods and so to his Usuall Limitts Mary Wharton an Orphan is bound by the Court unto Solomon Tull untill she arrives to the age of Sixteen she being Eleven Years of age the fifteenth day of December next the said Mary Wharton to Serve the said Solomon Tull the full term of time afd In consideration of which Servitude the said Solomon Tull undertakes for to give her a years schooling during her servitude and at the Expiration of her Servitude to give her a youg Cow and Calfe and a Suite of Cloaths of good wosted Stuff &c Thereupon the said Solomon Tull is Ordered by the Court to give recognizance with two Securitys in the Sum of thirty pounds Sterling good and Lawfull mony of England to the Use of the said Mary Wharton in Case the Said Solomon Tull doth not Comply with Covenants afd &.c Whereupon the said Solomon Tull together with Samuel Dorman and Nicholas Fountain Jun.r his Securitys all present herein Court in their proper persons acknowledged |
