pounds of Six shillings Curr.t Mony of Maryland which to her he ows and from her he
unjustly Detains &c
                                     And whereupon the Same Betty by Levin Gale her attorney
Saith that whereas the afd David the Eleventh day of March Anno Dom One thousand Seven
hundred and twenty four at Somersett County within the Jurisdiction of this Court by his
Certain writing Obligatory Granted himselfe to be held and firmly Bound unto the
Same Betty in the Sum of twenty four pounds Six Shill.s Curr.t Mony of Maryland
to be paid the Same Betty when afterwards the said David Should be thereto requested
the afd twenty four pounds Six shillings Curr.t mony to the Same Betty he hath not paid
Rendered but the Said David the same hitherto to Do hath altogether Denyed and
Still doth Deny and Unjustly Detain  Whereby the Same Betty Says She is worse and
hath Damage to the value of thirty pounds Like Mony & thereof She Brings this
Suite and Brings hereinto Court the Writing Obligatory afd which the debt afd in form
afd Wittnesseth whose date is the Same day and Year afd
                                                   Levin Gale  P Qeu Pledges &.c  Jn.o Doe Richd Roe

And the afd David Johnson by George Dashiell his attorney Comes and defends the force
and Injury when &.c and prays leave to Imparle hereunto untill the Next Court and he
hath it and the Same day is given to the afd Plft here also

          Att which said Next Court to witt the Eighteenth day of June anno Dom One thousand
seven hundred and twenty Eight Came again as well the afd Betty Gale as the afd David
Johnson by their attorneys afd and the same attorney of the afd David Johnson sayth
that he Cannot gainsay the action afd of the afd Betty nor but that the same David owes
the Same Betty the afd twenty four pounds six shillings Curr.t mony nor Can he Say
but that the writing Obligatory afd is the act and deed of the Same David in Manner and
and form as the afd Dav Betty above against ^him^ hath declared &c

                     Therefore it is Considered by the Court here the same day and Year Last
mentioned that the afd Betty Gale Recover against the afd David Johnson Twenty four pounds
Six shilling's Curr.t mony her debt afd and her damages by Occasion of the detaining of the
326   Same debt to Three hundred & Twenty six            pounds of tobacco to the Same Betty
by the Court here of her assent adjudged and the afd David in Mercy &c
