Ann.o Dom one thousand seven hundred and twenty four at Somrsett Co.ty within the Jur of this
Court by his Certain Writing Obligatory Granted himselfe to be held & firmly bound unto the
Same Betty in the afd Sum of thirty Nine pounds Nineteen Shills and four pence halfe
Penny Curr.t mony of Maryland to be paid the same Betty when afterwards the said
Mitchell Shou'd be thereto required yett the afd Mitchell though often thereto required
the afd thirty Nine pd.s Nineteen Shills & four Pence halfe Penny Curr.t Mony to the same
Betty hath not rendered but the said Mitchell the same hitherto to Doe hath altogether
denyed & Still doth deny & Unjustly Detain whereby the Same Betty says she is
worse & hath Dam.s to the value of seventy pounds of Like Mony  And thereof she
brings this Suite &.a  And the Same Betty brings hereinto Court the Writing Obligatory
afd which the Debt afd Wittnesseth whose Date is the same Day & Year afd
                                                     Levin Gale P Quer Pledges &a  J Doe Rich.d Roe

             Att which said third tuesday of June to witt the Eighteenth day of the Same month
Ann.o Dom One thousand seven hundred and twenty Eight being the day of the Return
of the said Writt Cometh the said Betty Gale by her attorney afd and the sher of Somersett
County to whom the foregoeing writt was directed Likewise Cometh and Maketh Return thereof
to the Court here Endorsed vizt   Non Est Inventus   short note   Left P fran: Allen sher

       Whereupon the afd Betty by Levin Gale her attorney afd Prays that forasmuch as
she hath Complyed with the Law in order to an attachm.t she may have Judgmt against the
afd Mitchell Downs for her debt afd by way of attachm.t according to act of assembly &c

       Whereupon for that it seems to the Court here that the said Betty has Complyed with the
Law as alledged
                             Therefore it is Considered by the Court here the Same day and Year last
mentioned that the afd Betty Gale Recover against the afd Mitchell Downs thirty Nine
pounds Nineteen shillings and four pence halfe Penny Curr.t mony her Debt afd as also her
damages sustained by Occasion of the detaining of the same Debt to the same Betty by the
Court here adjudged by way of attachment against the goods Chattells Rights or Creditts of
the said Mitchell Downs according to act of assembly in Such Case made and Provided &c

 Somersett fs  Peter Freeny late of Stepny Parish in Somersett County al.s dict.s Peter
Freeny of Somersett County in the Province of Maryland Planter was Sumoned
to answer unto John Read of a plea that he Render unto him six thousand
pounds of tobacco good sound merchantable Leafe tobacco which to him he owes and from
him he unjustly detains &c
                                              And whereupon the same John by George Dashiell his
attorney saith that whereas the afd Peter the twenty first day of December anno Dom one
                                                                                                                      thousand
