1 Att a court of the Right honble Charles absolute Lord and Proprietary of the provinces of maryland and avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore &.c held at dividing Creek in Somersett county by his said Lordships Commissioners and Justices of the peace the third tuesday of June being the Twentieth day of the Same month and in the twelfth year of his said Lordships dominion &.c anno Dom 1727
whereas the Same Ebenezer the Said Willm the tenth Day of January Anno Dom one thousand seven hundred & twenty five at Somrsett Co.ty afd within the Jur of this Court was possessed of one gelding of the price of twenty pd.s Curr.t mony of maryland as his proper Gelding & so thereof being Possessed afterwards to witt ye Same Day & year afd at the Co.ty afd the same gelding out of his hands & possession Casually Lost which said Gelding afterwards yt is to say ye Same Day & year afd at ye Coty afd within the afd Jur to ye hands & possession of ye afd John Bishop by finding came & in the possession & Custody of ye Same John Bishop yet is by which action hath accrewed to ye Said Ebenezer to to have & require of ye afd Jn.o ye gelding afd Nevertheless ye Said John though often thereto requested ye gelding af to ye Same Ebenezer hath not Delivered but ye s.d Jn.o ye s.d gelding hither to to ye s.d Said Ebenezer to Deliver hath Denyed & Still doth Deny & unjustly Detain to ye s.d Damage of the said Ebenezer twenty pd.s Curr.t money and thereof he Brings this Suite &a L Gale P Quer pledges &a Jno Doe R Roe And the afd John Bishop by George Dashiell his attorney Comes and defends the force and Injury when &.c and prays leave to Imparle hereunto untill the Next Court & he hath it and the same day is given to the afd plft here also Att which said Next Court to witt the sixteenth day of August anno Dom One thousand seven hundred and twenty six Came again as well the afd Ebenezer Cooke as the afd John Bishop by their attorneys afd and whereupon the same John Bishop by his said attorney prays further Leave to Imparle hereunto untill the next Court and he hath it and the same day is given to the afd Plft here also Att which said Next Court to witt the fifteenth day of Novem.r ann.o Dom One thousand Seven hundred and twenty six Came againe as well the afd Ebenezer Cooke as the afd John Bishop by their attorneys afd and whereupon the same John Bishop by his said attorney prays further Leave to Imparle hereunto untill the next Court and he hath it and the same day is Given to the afd Plft here also Att which said next Court to witt the twenty first day of March anno Dom One thousand Seven hundred |
