           August Court               1725            65

to whom the foregoeing writt was directed Likewise Cometh and maketh Return thereof to the Court
here Endorsed in these words following viz.t   Cepi Corpus P Jos: MccClester Sher

       And the said John Bishop in his Own proper person Cometh and defendeth the force &
Injury when &c and prayeth Leave to Imparle hereunto untill the next Court and he hath it 
and the same day is given to the afd plft also

          Att which said Next Court to witt the seventeenth day of august ann Dom One thousand seven
hundred and twenty five Came againe as well the afd Macke Scott by his attorney afd as the Said Jno
Bishop in his Own proper person as afd and the said John Bishop in his Own proper person as
before defends the force & Injury when &c and says that he Cannot gainsay the plft his action
afd against him brought nor Can he say but that the Writing Obligatory afd is his act and deed &
that the debt therein mentioned is yett due and unsatisfyed wherefore the said plft prays
Judgm.t for his debt afd and his Costs and damages Sustained by Occasion of the detaining the
same debt to him to be adjudged

                Therefore it is Considered by the Court here the Same day and Year Last mentioned
that the afd Marke Scott Recover against the afd John Bishop as well the Sum of seven hundred
(291)    pence his debt afd as also the Sum of Two hundred and Ninety One            pounds of
tobacco for his Costs and damages sustained by Occasion of the detaining the same debt to the Same
marke Scott of his assent by the Court here adjudged & the afd deft in Mercy &c
