     Thomas Layfeild
     This being an action of Debt for Seven Pounds Eighteen shillings and three pence
Curr.t mony &.c wherein the sher of Somersett County to whom the writt in the Same
                         action was directed Cometh and maketh Return thereof Endorsed vizt Cepi Corpus
                                                                                                                               P Francis Allen sher

And whereupon the said Thomas Layfeild in his Own proper person appears and thereupon the
Said Thomas Layfeild at the prayer of the said Jno Pitts by Levin Gale his attorney is adjudged to give
Speciall Bail to the action afd thereupon a Certain Thomas Newbold of Somersett County Gent Present
here in Court undertakes for the said Thomas Layfeild that in Case the said John Pitts shall recover
Judgm.t in the plea afd against the said Thomas Layfeild or that the said Thomas Layfeild shall be therein
Convict that then he the said Thomas Layfeild shall pay the condemnation of the court ^thereupon^ or render his
body to the custody of the sherr of Somersett County in satisfaction thereof or that he the said Thomas
Newbold will do it for him thereupon the said Thomas Layfeild in his Own proper person appears
and Imparles this till Next Court &c

    Upon the Pet.n of Thomas Williams for the turning of the road ^along^ where he had Cutt a new ditch near
his hous &c   The premises Considered Its therefore Ordered by the Court that the road be turned
along upon the Ditchside as by the afd Thomas Williams is prayed &c
