1726 250 and other faithfull subjects of Our Lord the King deservedly had and obtained but also her person from punishm.t and all and Singular her goods and Chattells free and Clear from all penalties and forfeitures as the Law in such Case Directs hath Kept and preserved Nevertheless the afd Will.m Being not Ignorant of the premises of his one mere and wicked Mallace forethought plotting and Maliciously intending the said Cullett not only in her good name fame Creditt Esteem and Reputation afd to hurt detract scandelize make worse and altogether to Blacken & her the said Cullett into Evill opinion and Esteem as well of all her neigbours as other faithfull subjects of our Lord the King to Induce and Create but also Cause her Innocently to be brought in danger of of sufering Corporall Punishm.t or forfeiting six hundred pounds of tob.o or thirty Shill.s as the Law in Such Cases Directs at Stepney parish afd within the Jur of this Court on the tenth day of aprill Anno Dom one thousand Seven hundred and twenty Six these falce scandelous and Malicious words and Lies in the presents and hearing of Severall the good people of the County afd within an Audible voice did utter Rehearse and pronounce the same W.m meaning and speaking of himselfe Can fuck Cullett Owten when I please (the same Cullett meaning) and that it was a Credit ot fuck and tell) by Pretext of Speaking which falce and scandelous words and Lies the said Cullett is not only in her good name fame Credit State and Reputation which before was Innocent is Greviously hurt but also the same Cullett Divers Sums of money and tob.o in and about the premisses afd hath Expended and Laid Out to Clear her Innocency whereupon the same Cullett saith she is worse and hath Damage to the value forty pounds Curr.t money of maryland and thereof she brings suite &c.a Dashiell P Quer pledges &c Jno Doe R Roe With his verifiation that to say he could fuck her according to the Common Exceptation of the people is as much as to say he could ahad Carnall Knowledge of her ^body^ the Body of the said Cullett Meaning And the afd William Jones by Levin Gale his attorney Cometh and defendeth the force and Injury when &c and prays Leave to Imparle hereunto untill the next Court and he hath it and the same day is given to the afd Plft ^here^ also Att which said next Court to witt the Sixteenth day of August Anno Dom One thousand seven hundred and twenty six Came againe as well the afd Plft as the afd deft by their attorneys afd and the afd Deft by his said attorney prayed further Leave thereunto to Imparle here untill the next Court and he hath it and the same day is given to the afd Plft also Att |
