if your worships Pleases to grant me a Lycence for to Keep ordinary and I as in Duty bound shall Ever pray W.m Grooms The Petition afd being read and heard and the premises Considered its thereupon ordered that the Petition afd be granted as Praid he giveing Security according to Law &c Thereupon the said William Groom together with a Certain Francis Allen and Hugh Porter his securitys all present here in Court acknowledged themselves to Owe and be Indebted unto the Right honrble the Lord proprietary of this province his heirs and successors in the Sum of Twenty pounds ^ster^ to be Levied on the ^their^ goods or Chattells Lands or tenements Joyntly or Severally for the Use of his Said Lordship his heirs and Successors In case the said William Groom shall Entertain any Freeman or Loos person in his hous above twenty four hours (Court times Excepted) unless such persons so Entertained by him be Capable to give his vote for a delegate in the said County or that he be retained as a Servant to the said William Groom or shall Entertain any other person whatsoever ^that shall be noted^ to him as a Common tipler by the Justices of the said County Court and Likewise that the said William Groom shall not pay unto his said Lordship his agent or factor for the time being the Sum of five hundred pounds of tobo for every year he Shall Keep ordinary or hous of Entertainment, and doe ^doe^ not in Every Respect Comply with the act act of assembly Entituled an act for the better regulation of Ordinarys keepers and Inholders within this province &c
Anno Dom one thousand Seven hundred & twenty about Eleven a Clock in ye afternoon (that is to Say) in ye Night of ye same day at Somrsett County afd within the Jur of this Court ye Mentioned House of one John Williams of ye said County with force & arms feloniously did Enter & forty pounds Curr.t Money of Maryland Numbred of ye proper Money of ye said Jn.o Williams then & there being & found then & there feloniously did take Steal & Carry away against ye peace of ye right Honourable ye Lord proprietor of this province his good rule & Government & also against ye forme of an act of assembly of this province in Such Case made & provided & against ye peace &a Dashiell P.r L D PC |
