                                                    Att a Court of the right honourable Charles absolute Lord and Proprietary
          of the Provinces of Maryland and avalon Lord Baron of Baltemore &c  held at Dividing Creek in Sommersett
   County afd by his Lordships Justices and Commissioners ^and Justices^ of the of the Peace the third tuesday of august
    being the twentyeth day of the same Month and in the Eighth year of his said Lordships Dominion &c

List of taxables according to Law &c

for his negro to be tax free
To the worshipfull Justices of Somersett County Court Now Sitting the humble
Petition of John Fleming humbly deviseth that your worship will sett tax free
                                     a Certain Old negro of mine that is a Cripple and not Capable of Doing of any service
at all therefore Hope that Your Worship's will take it into Consideration and free your Said Petitioner
from the Burthen that he Now lyes under and your Petitioner as in duty Bound Shall Ever pray
                            August the 12.th 1723                                                      John Fleming

          Whereupon the Petition afd being read and by the Court naturally Considered &c    It's thereupon
Ordered by the Court here that the said Negro of the afd John Fleming be leavy free for this year &c

            John Dunkin of Sommersett County ^is^ Committed into the Custody of the Sherr of the same County untill he gives
security for the paym.t of his Leavy   Levin Gale Security for the same &c

Mathew Dorman appointed Overseer of the roads in Manokin hundred in Stead of Robert Wilson to Clear
the road from John Kings Mill to Moses Alexanders &c

To the worshipfull Court of Sommersett County in maryland sitting the humble Petition
of Thomas Purnell Executor and administrator to the Estate of Cap.t Thomas Purnell
                whereas there was an Orphan Boy bequeathed to a Certain Catherine Goden by the Said Orphans Father
Richard Warren dec.d and the afd Capt Thomas Purnell Intermaried with the said Catherine Goden Caused
the said Orphan Boy to fall into the Estate of the said Cap.t Thomas Purnell and your humble petitioner
being Bound by his Oath to give in the whole Estate of the Said Purnell in unto the appraisers upon their
Oathes the said Boy being willing to serve untill he Came to the age of twenty one years old and upon
the Orphan they put an Estimation and now the said Orphan refuses to serve therefore your petitioner
Complains to your worships and as in duty bound shall Ever pray               Thomas Purnell
