45 Sommersett County ss.t Att a Court of his Lordships the right honourable the Lord Proprietarie of the Province of maryland &.c held at Dividing Creek in Sommersett County by his Lordships Commissioners and Justices of the Peace the third tuesday of June Being the Eighteenth day of the Same Month and in the Eighth Year of his said Lordships Dominion &.c Ann Dom: 1723
Whereas Mr James Dashiel Gent of Sommersett County being appointed in his Lordships Commission of the Peace One of the Justices of said County 5 Now here at this day to witt the Eighteenth day of June Ann Dom One thousand Seven hundred and twenty three appeared herein Court ^the said James Dashiell^ and takes the severall Oaths appointed by act of assembly with the Oath of Justice and Subscribed ^to^ the Oath of abjuration and test and thereupon the said James Dashiell took his place as abovesaid &.c Proclamation being made in Usuall form and the Sherr of Sommersett County to witt Joseph M.ccChester Gent being Called to make return of the Pannell of the Orphan Jury return the same which Jurors are as follows viz.t Neale M.ccChester ^Wm Lane^ William Walton Sam.ll Dorixson, John Webb, John Shiles, Thomas Mitchell,, John Fountain, Nathannell Horsey, Thomas Pullett, Rendall Smullen, Ambross Riggin W.m Pointer, Thomas Pointer, Richard Hudson, Thomas Robinson, Richard Holland, Isaac Brittingham, Peter Collier, Gideon Tilman, Lazarus Maddux Poakamoak who being severally Called appears and were Sworn and Charged and Sent Out to Consider &.c who soon after appears and present to the Court here One Presentm.t against John Pointer being Content that the Court should amend form altering noe matter of Substance in the Same Presentm.t thereupon the Orphan Jurors are accordingly Discharged and against the said John Pointer so as afd Presented it Ordered that venire facias Issue returnable to next Cort
lame and diseased man and not Capable of Labour to pay a nurs to raise my Child and the world so uncharitable that if your worships do not late Some Pitty on my poor Infant it is Likely to Suffer therefore your Petitioner humble Craves your Charitable deed of paying a nurse about One Year and then by the Grace of God I hope I shall be able to take some Care my selfe and your Petitioner as in duty Bound Ever more shall pray Abraham Hiway Whereupon the Petition afd being read heard (and) |
