35 of trespass upon the Case &.c And whereupon the said Abraham by George Dashiell his attorney Complains that whereas ^he the said Abraham^ is a good true and faithfull subject of our Lord the King now and as a good true and faithfull subject of our Lord the King now and divers his Predecessors Kings and Queens of the realm of great Brittain from the time of his Nativity hitherto hath behaved and governed himselfe of a good name fame gesture and Condition and honest Conversation amongst good and grave men as well his Neighbours as Other faithfull subjects of Our Lord the King Now to whom he was well Known and whom the said Abraham used to Commerce by the whole time afd was held Known Called and reputed and without any falcity Prejury or Other Blot of any Notorious Crime or any suspition of the same hath hitherto unhurt unattainted and unspotted remained and Contained by reason of which his good name fame and gesture the said Abraham great favour Love and good will amongst all his neighbours and others faithfull subjects of Our Lord the King now to himselfe hath had deserved by hand and will to adm obtained yett the afd Thomas being not Ignorant of the Premisses Plotting and Malisiously Intending him the said Abraham not only into scandell trouble vexation Infamy amongst his Neighbours and other faithfull subjects of Our Lord the King now to Induce but also to Cause him Innocently to be Brought in danger of forfeiting twenty pounds sterling and suffering Six Months Imprisonment without Bail or Main prize as the Law in Such Cases directed the fifth day of July Ann Dom One thousand seven hundred and twenty two at the Parish and County afd within the Jurisdiction of this Court the said Thomas haveing Communication with the said Abraham in Presence of sundry good subjects of Our Lord the King these falce scandelous words and Lyes did Openly and Publickly speak reherse and pronounce viz.t Abraham Mason (Meaning him the said Abraham) you have take a falce Oath & I will Prove it by the speakeing and Publishing of which ^falce^ scandolous and approbrious words the said Abraham not only in his good name fame and Estimation afd is very much hurt and damnified but also is Likely to be had in Contempt of his Neighbours and Others faithfull subjects of Our Lord the King to whom his Innocency in that Part is ^un^Known and the said Abraham is Put to great trouble Charge and Expence for the vindicating himself in that Part to the damage of the said Abraham of six thousand pounds of tobacco and thereupon he Brings his suite Dashiel P Qrte Prdg Jno Doe Richd Roe And the said Thomas Drummond by Francis Allen his attorney Comes and defends the force and Injury when &.c and prays Leave to Imparle hereunto untill the next Court and he hath it and the same day is given to the Plft also Att which said next Court to witt the twentieth day of November Ann Dom One thousand seven hundred and twenty two Comes againe as the said Plft by his attorney afd as the said deft by his attorney afd and the said deft by his said attorney prays further Leave to Imparle hereunto untill the next Court and he hath it and the same day is given to the Plft also Att which said next Court to witt the Nineteenth day of March Ann Dom One thousand seven hundred and twenty two Comes again as well the said Plft by his attorney afd as the said deft by his attorney afd and thereupon the Court adjourns untill the Last tuesday in aprill next being (the) |
