month ann Dom One thousand seven hundred and twenty four being the day of the Return of
the afd Writt Cometh the Said Edmond Hough by his attorney afd and the Sherr of Somersett
County afd to whom the foregoeing writt was directed Likewise Cometh & maketh Return thereof
to the Court here Endorsed in these words following viz.t   Cepi Corpus p Jos: MccClester Sherr
             Whereupon the said John Hammon being Called appears and thereupon the said
John Hammon at the prayer of the plfts attorney afd is adjudged to give Speciall Bayle to the
Action afd thereupon a Certain Thomas Pointer son of William Pointer of Somersett County
planter present here in Court undertakes for the Said John Hammon that if in Case the Said
Edmond Hough shall Recover Judgm.t in the plea afd against the said John Hammon
or that the said John Hammon shall be therein Convict that then he the said John Hammon
shall pay the Condemnation of the Court thereupon or Render his Body to the Custody
of the Sherr of Somersett County in Satisfaction thereof or that he ^the said Thomas Pointer^ will do it for him
             And the said John Hammon in his Own proper person Cometh and defendeth
the force and Injury when &c and saith that he Cannot gainsay the plft his action afd so
as afd against him brought nor Can he say but that the Said plft ought to recover his
damages by Occasion of the premisses afd to three hundred & twenty pounds of porke & Eighteen
shillings & Nine pence Curr.t Money and Cost of Suite against him which the said plft doth
not gainsay                        Therefore it is Considered by the Justices here the sixteenth
day of March Ann Dom One thousand Seven hundred & twenty four afd that the said Edmond
Hough Recover against the said John Hammon as well the sum of three hundred and twenty
pounds of good sound Merchantable Pork & Eighteen shillings and Nine Pence Curr.t money his
damages by occasion of the premisses afd in form afd Confessed as also the sume of three
(333)   hundred & Thirty three           pounds of tobacco by the Court here adjudged unto him
333   for his Costs and Charges by the Court here by him about ^his^ Suite in this behalfe Laid Out & Expended
and the Said Jno Hammon in Mercy &c
